Many local families face financial barriers that make specialized support for children with characteristics of dyslexia difficult to access. The Dyslexia Project of Jackson Hole works to ensure every child has the opportunity to become a confident reader and speller while working alongside families and schools and building community awareness of dyslexia through education, outreach, and expert speakers.

Why this matters:

  • Up to 1 in 5 students show signs of dyslexia.
  • Students with ongoing reading struggles face higher rates of anxiety, low self-esteem, frustration, school disengagement, and academic underperformance.
  • When reading difficulties go unaddressed, the effects can extend far beyond the classroom.
  • Students with characteristics of dyslexia benefit from explicit, evidence-based Structured Literacy instruction delivered by highly trained professionals, an approach shown to significantly improve reading and spelling outcomes.
  • Many learners with dyslexia have unique strengths in creativity, big-picture thinking, storytelling, problem-solving, or visual and hands-on learning—showing that intelligence and potential come in many forms.

Dyslexia does NOT have to negatively impact a child's future. Every child deserves the opportunity to read and thrive.

Our Mission

To ensure every child has access to the skills needed to read, learn, and thrive.

The Dyslexia Project of Jackson Hole expands access to early dyslexia screening, intensive evidence-based reading and spelling intervention, and promotes greater community awareness and understanding of dyslexia.
